Earlier this
week the Derbyshire Evening Telegraph reported that the Derbyshire Dales
District Council had identified five possible sites for development for Travellers. One of the listed sites was Highfield House,
Hulland Ward. It was identified by
market researchers as a possible site due to its suitable size and current
market availability.
Last night
there was a meeting at Matlock to discuss which of the five sites should be
taken forward to the next stage of consultation. The site at Highfield House was ruled out as
it was deemed to be too costly. The site
also identified at the back of Jasmine Cottage, Turnditch has also been
dismissed.
